SEASONAL LAWN TREATMENTS

Aeration.jpg

AERATION

Seasonal Lawn Feeds
The foundation of our lawn care plans are the ‘Seasonal Feeds’ these ensure your lawn has access to all the nutrients it requires throughout the year.
Each feed is formulated specifically for the time of year they are being applied.
The fertiliser we use is a controlled release product which acts over a period of 3 months.
Each time clippings are removed from your lawn in the way of grass cutting, precious nutrients are stolen. This is why it is essential to apply these feeds at regular intervals to ensure your grass has all the nutrients it requires. Without the required nutrients your lawn will discolour and have an increased chance of  pest, disease, moss and weed invasions.

Aeration
This is a procedure which reduces soil and sod compaction, improves drainage, soil air content and also increases nutrient to root penetration. If this operation is missed there is a reduced chance that your seasonal lawn feeds will be fully effective.

MOSS TREATMENTS

WEED TREATMENTS

Moss Treatments
Moss is very common in UK lawns, it’s tolerance to cool weather and love for damp and shady conditions means it can become rather a problem if left untreated.
Our moss treatments will leave any moss in your lawn black and in poor health.
Following a moss treatment it is advisable to lawn rake or scarify to remove the blackened moss.
Lots of moss is a great indication  that a lawn requires aeration.

Weed Treatments
Weed management in lawns is something that should be addressed proactively rather than reactively. If there is weeds present in your lawn it is important to eliminate these at the earliest availability to prevent them spreading. We apply our selective herbicide between May and October.

SCARIFICATION

LIQUID FEED APPLICATION

Scarification
Scarification is similar to aeration but instead of maintaining the soil and root space it manages the thatch layer which builds up continually as your lawn grows and matures.
Scarification removes built up thatch and moss which if left untreated can cause major lawn health issues. There are a variety of blades which we choose from to suit the requirements of your lawn. Eg the flail blade is used for heavy rejuvenation work and the swing blades for light maintenance work.
Scarification is usually followed with a feed or over seeding.

Liquid feed
Liquid feeds are faster acting than the seasonal feeds we offer. This type of feed is most suitable for strait after scarification or prior to a party or even at which you want your lawn to look at its best.

HYDRO-ASSIST

Over-seeding is an operation that often gets overlooked by most lawn owners. However it is essential for refreshing award with fresh grass plants. Over-seeding is particularly useful after scarification when the lawn is looking thin or should a new variety of grass be required in an existing lawn to improve the suitability of the lawn to its situation. We use a specialist mechanical overseeder which improves seed to soil contact and even distribution.

Hydro-assist
Our hydro assist treatments are developed to reduce the effects of LDP (Localised Dry Patch). When the soil in a particular area becomes hydroponic (water repellent) grass will struggle to survive, however, this revolutionary treatment will improve the water holding capacity of the lawn where applied therefore the grass should thrive once again.
